Corey,Interesting article with a very ieetrnsting question that I and many others have heard many times before. I am not speaking on behalf of Ethiopian women although I am an Ethiopian women when I ask back, why the persistent interest in Ethiopian women? Perhaps if they state their reason for their persistent interest in them, maybe then we can find an answer that will prove if this myth is true or not for some. Mind you this question you are asking is one that has been asked by many others not only by African-American men but also by many other races and ethnicities who have been very interested in dating Ethiopian women for many many years as far back as my mothers and grandmothers generations. I think there are several reasons for the lack of interest by most. Some of which are the following:1. If it seems that the only reason why someone is interested is because she is Ethiopian, clearly she is not going to be interested as no one is interested in dating someone who is interested in them solely for their race/ethnic background. Would you be interested in dating someone who is solely interested in you because you are African-American?2. Most not all, want to date someone from the same country who speaks the same language and shares the same culture and religion for the belief that dating and marrying someone internally is easier as relationship is hard enough as it is so why complicate it further by dating and marrying someone externally.3. Not to say all African-American men are players and all Ethiopian men are not, but the reputation of African-American men which unfortunately supersedes them is that they are continuous players who never ever want to commit and even when they finally do commit, end up cheating on their wives. This reputation let's be honest is one that has been rightly earned for the most part and can even be agreed with by African-American women.4. Since African-American men don't have a good reputation for being good boyfriends, husbands and fathers even by their own women, Ethiopian women who are interested in marrying a man who will be committed to them and the children they are one day going to have, will clearly not be interested even if they were physically attracted to them.So to answer your question, it is not that Ethiopian women are specifically singling out African-American men and not dating them, if you look around for the most part, Ethiopian women tend to date and marry someone from their own country who shares the same language and religion. But there are also plenty Ethiopians who are happily married to African-American as well as other men from around the world. So the myth is completely FALSE. Word of advise, for those interested in dating Ethiopian women don't make that the reason for wanting to date her as that is the ultimate turn off. Instead let the reason be that you find her beautiful inside and out, that you are attracted to her not only physically but also to her personality and character. A man who takes the time to appreciate a woman's complete beauty and worth, is a man any women will be interested in, appreciate and fall in love with.
